Research – Innovation – Entrepreneurship in Ophthalmology
Research, innovation, and the development of entrepreneurship are among the core pillars of the Aristotle Innovation Forum. In the field of Ophthalmology, the Laboratory of Experimental Ophthalmology, the Laboratory of Geodesy and Topography (Survey Engineering) of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and the Postgraduate Programme “Ocular Surgery” have created a dynamic environment for the emergence of a new generation of researchers and future leaders in innovation.
In this session, Olga Panagiotopoulou and Dimitra Pantelaki, postgraduate students, together with Kostis Terlemes, final-year medical student at the School of Medicine, and Assistant Professor Ionas Karolos from the School of Rural and Surveying Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, will discuss how innovation can arise from research-driven thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Sotiris Siagas, CEO and Partner of TECS Capital, will connect these ideas with real-world implementation, impact, and entrepreneurship in today’s society.
The session will be moderated by Professor Ioannis Tsinopoulos, Professor of Ophthalmology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and Professor Vasilis Tsioukas, Professor at the School of Rural and Surveying Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The discussion will focus on the way a new generation approaches scientific thinking, creativity, technology, and innovation, highlighting the particular importance of Gen-Z in shaping the future of research and entrepreneurship.
