Dimitrios Filos
Dimitrios Filos Electrical and Computer Engineer Dimitrios Filos is an Electrical and Computer Engineer. He holds a Master’s degree in Medical Informatics and a PhD from the School of Medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). His doctoral research focused on the multilevel modeling and analysis of atrial biosignals in atrial fibrillation. Since 2021, he has been a Laboratory Reader in the English-language undergraduate program of the School of Medicine at AUTH, and has delivered lectures on biosignal, biomedical imaging, and clinical data analysis as well as the development of artificial intelligence applications, in postgraduate programs organized by the School of Medicine and the Faculty of Engineering at AUTH. His research interests include the development and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning methods in healthcare, aiming to improve clinical decision-making and support personalized medicine, with a particular focus on cancer and cardiovascular diseases. His activities include designing and implementing methods for the management, processing, and analysis of biosignals, biomedical imaging, and clinical data. He develops and applies analytical approaches that combine machine learning techniques, domain knowledge, and computational modeling, contributing to advances in computational medicine and digital health. A key goal is translating these methods into clinical research, digital health applications, and clinical decision support systems. He has been involved in more than 15 EU-funded or nationally funded research projects. He has co-authored scientific papers published in international journals, conferences, and book chapters. Finally, he serves as a reviewer and associate editor for various international scientific journals.
