Eleni Kotanidou
Assistant Professor in Pediatrics-Adolescent Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Medicine
Eleni P Kotanidou is an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics-Adolescent Medicine in the School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. After her medical degree from the Aristotle University School of Medicine, she has been trained in Pediatrics in her medical residency program, and has been board-certified in Pediatric Endocrinology as subspecialty pediatric training, in Greece. She pursued postgraduate, master and doctorate studies in Adolescent Medicine and in Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology with a special focus on adolescent obesity in the Aristotle University, Thessaloniki and the Paris-Saclay University, France. She completed the Clinical Fellowship Program "Endocrinology and Metabolism of Children and Adolescents” in the 2nd Department of Pediatrics, Aristotle University School of Medicine, Greece.
She teaches Adolescent Medicine in pregraduate medical students in the School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is also faculty member of the Program of Postgraduate Studies “Adolescent Medicine and Adolescent Health Care” of the Aristotle University School of Medicine, which offers training in adolescent medicine to health care professionals, psychologists and teachers.
She cares for adolescents in the 2nd Department of Pediatrics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki at AHEPA University Hospital, a tertiary Pediatrics Clinic. She has a special clinical interest in the health of adolescents childhood cancer survivors regarding their endocrine late effects and also in the care of adolescents with overweight and obesity. In research, she focuses on adolescent obesity and prediabetes and on endocrine late effects of childhood cancer survivors. She is a mother of three adolescent girls.
