Alexis Kermanidis
Professor in the Laboratory of Mechanics and Strength of Materials (LMSM), Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Thessaly (UTH)
Professor in the Laboratory of Mechanics and Strength of Materials (LMSM), Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Thessaly (UTH), in the field of Mechanical Behaviour of Metallic Materials. He has a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the University of Patras (1996), and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of the University of Patras (2003). He has participated in 17 European and National research projects since 1997, three of them as Scientific Coordinator. He is author of more than 75 publications in scientific journals, and Conferences, as well as author of 3 chapters in books and supervisor of 4 PhD and 7 MSc Theses in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of UTH. He has been a scientific committee member in 7 International Conferences, organizer of 2 international Conferences and 1 International Workshop and has acted as member of the Evaluation Committee of research Proposals for the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation. From 2009 he is Scientific Advisor of the Centaurus Racing Team, a student research team that has acquired multiple first positions (2011, 2013, 2018, 2024) in various events of the international Formula Student (FSAE) student competition.
