Dr. John Koutroumpis holds a PhD in International Relations, specializing in international energy policy and energy power in global politics, with a focus on Russia, the European Union, and the United States. He is also a journalist and Editor at CNN Greece and has collaborated with major Greek media organizations. His research and publications examine energy diplomacy, geopolitical power structures, and strategic interactions among key international actors. Grounded in rigorous academic training and extensive professional experience, his work integrates classical and contemporary analytical approaches to the study of power, strategy, and international order, with particular attention to the evolving role of technology and artificial intelligence in energy governance and geopolitical decision-making. He has significant expertise in comparative energy policy analysis, geopolitical risk assessment, and strategic research, alongside extensive experience in digital journalism and editorial leadership. He has served as a Visiting Researcher at the University of the Peloponnese. He is the author of two monographs: “The Evolution of Republican Perceptions on Foreign Policy and Military Interventions” (2017) and “Russia’s Pipeline Network and Its Energy Relations with Europe” (Papazisis Publications, 2022), and his scholarly articles have been published in international academic journals and widely cited as bibliographic references.
