Professor of Medical Biopathology–Microbiology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specialized in microbiology with a focus on the microbiome and infectious diseases.
Director of the National Influenza Reference Centre of Northern Greece, a WHO- and ECDC-affiliated centre, with active participation in international surveillance networks such as GISN.
Scientific Supervisor of the Hepatology Laboratory at the 2nd Department of Internal Medicine, “Hippokration” General Hospital of Thessaloniki.
Active member of more than 10 Greek and international scientific societies, with participation in scientific boards, including the role of General Secretary of the Hellenic Society for Virology.
Academic and research activity includes more than 100 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, leadership in multiple research projects, and distinction with a Research Excellence Award for two consecutive academic years. Strong involvement in education through supervision of PhD candidates and frequent presentations at national and international conferences.
