Eleftherios [Terry] G. Kaklamanos
Associate Professor, Consultant Orthodontist, and President of the European Federation of Orthodontics
Dr. Terry Kaklamanos is an Associate Professor, Consultant Orthodontist, and President of the European Federation of Orthodontics. He also serves as President of the Greek Orthodontic Society, RMC (Europe) for the World Federation of Orthodontists, Honorary Treasurer of the Balkan Association of Orthodontic Specialists, and Editor-in-Chief of the Hellenic Orthodontic Review.
He earned his Dental Degree and Master of Science in Orthodontics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Additionally, he holds a Master of Arts in Healthcare Management from the Open University of Cyprus and a Certificate in Preventive and Community Dentistry from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His PhD research, conducted at the Faculty of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, focused on mandibular condyle development.
Dr. Kaklamanos’ research interests encompass artificial intelligence, craniofacial skeletal development, clinical effectiveness and safety of orthodontic procedures, evidence-based dentistry, socio-economic and patient-reported outcomes in dental and orthodontic treatments, as well as study design and statistical methodologies in dental research. His academic contributions include over 130 scientific publications, more than 2,700 citations in international literature (H-index: 28), and over 170 conference abstracts, invited presentations, and courses. He has also supervised more than 30 MSc theses, serves as a peer reviewer for several scientific journals, and continues to lead the Hellenic Orthodontic Review as Editor-in-Chief.
Dr. Kaklamanos graduated valedictorian and has received multiple honors, scholarships, distinctions, and awards from esteemed institutions, including the American Association of Orthodontists and the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation, as well as from various governmental, academic, and scientific organizations. In 2020, he was honored with the Riyad Bayoumi Research Excellence Award, and from 2021, he has served as an American Association of Orthodontists Ambassador.
