Bonios is a cardiologist and Head of the Heart Failure and Transplant Units at the Onassis Hospital in Athens, Greece, and serves as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Utah, USA. He specializes in Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support and Heart Transplantation. A contributor to HFA/ESC clinical consensus statements, his research focuses on the management and phenotyping of Right Heart Failure, as well as the mechanisms of myocardial recovery. In the field of Translational Cardiology, Dr. Bonios develops experimental heart failure models in small animals and has previously conducted research into stem cell therapies to attenuate cardiac remodeling.
