Artemis Zenetou
Artemis Zenetou Executive Director, Fulbright Foundation Artemis A. Zenetou is Executive Director of the Fulbright Foundation in Greece, a nonprofit educational organization established in 1948 to advance academic and cultural exchanges between Greece and the United States. She is the first Greek citizen and the first woman to lead the Foundation. Educated in Greece and the United States, she holds degrees in History of Art and Business, as well as Museum Studies and Management of Nonprofit Organizations. Her career spans positions at institutions including the World Bank, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. She has published in English and Greek, with a focus on cultural diplomacy, international academic collaboration, cultural exchange, and the Greek diaspora. Zenetou has served on many boards and advisory bodies, contributing to public service and civic initiatives. Fulbright Greece provides scholarships to Greek and U.S. citizens and serves as the official advising center for study in the United States and Greece. It supports students, scholars, artists, teachers, and professionals of all backgrounds to study, teach, and conduct research, helping to build mutual understanding and find solutions to critical international concerns. Since 1948, the Foundation has awarded more than 6,500 scholarships, creating a vibrant, diverse, and interconnected network of alumni.
