María José Barrios Castro (PhD in Classical Studies) has developed her research along three lines: Greek Dialectology and Lexicography, Historiography of Greek Literature, and Classical Tradition. Within the first line, her doctoral dissertation (1996) on the Cretan Dialect and her collaboration in the collection of materials, revision, and editing of the Greek-Spanish Dictionary (DGE, 1996-2008) stand out. Within the second line of research, she belongs to the UCM Research Group on the Historiography of Greek and Roman Literature in Spain and she's member of the project "Digital Competencies and the Teaching of Literature: The "Hispanic Atlas of Classical Tradition and Reception". With respect to the third line, she has worked on the relationship between ancient and modern authors and collaborated on the Hispanic Dictionary of the Classical Tradition and Reception (2021) as well as on the project The Journey of Literary Ideas: Comparative Historiography of Classical Literature (2025).
