Elias Iosifidis

Elias Iosifidis is Assistant Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the 3rd Department of Pediatrics, Hippokration Hospital, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, directed by Professor Charalampos Antachopoulos, where he coordinates clinical studies, including multinational pediatric trials.
His work focuses on healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), antimicrobial resistance (AMR), infection prevention and control (IPC), and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS), with emphasis on the optimal use of newer antimicrobials in neonates and children.
He has received training at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, contributing to European initiatives on AMR and HAI surveillance.
He is actively involved in European research networks, including conect4children (c4c), and contributes to activities of European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases and European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications, with a strong international research footprint and contributions in antimicrobial resistance and pediatric infectious diseases. He also serves on the board of the Pediatric Society of Northern Greece.
