Dr. Lena Louizou is a communications professional with extensive experience in promoting academic and public institutions. She currently serves as Head of the Press Office at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

She holds a PhD from the School of Medicine of Aristotle University in the field of Media Health Literacy. Her doctoral dissertation focuses on Health Communication, examining communicative competence in interactions between journalists and physicians, as well as the specific characteristics and challenges of Health Journalism in Greece. She is a graduate of the Department of Political Science at the University of Siena in Italy.

Her professional and academic work centers on strategic communication, public outreach, and the transfer of academic knowledge to society, with particular expertise in health communication and the interface between science and the media.

Dr. Louizou has worked in the field of communication for the past 25 years. Previously, she served as Communications Officer in major public organizations in Western Macedonia, including the Press Office of the Region of Western Macedonia and the Press Office of the Regional Health System of Western Macedonia, where she also served as a Regular Member of the Board of Directors.
