Kostas Alexandris (PhD, University of Manchester, MA University of Sheffield, MEd, University of Manchester) is a Professor and Dean of the School of PE and Sport Science at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and a Visiting Professor at Sheffield Hallam Business School, UK. He is the Director of the “Sport, Tourism and Management” lab of AUTH (www.sportourmanlab.web.auth.gr/) and the Director of the Master program in” Sport, Recreation and Tourism Management” (www.sportmanagement.phed.auth.gr) of the Dept of PE and Sport Science. He has extensive international teaching experience (University of Illinois, JAMK University – Finland, Munich BS, Sheffield Hallam Law School, University of Seville, International Olympic University, etc.). He is leading several EU and national funded projects (Erasmus, Interreg, Innovation) in the areas of sport tourism, sustainability and active living promotion. He is an elected Board Member at the European Association of Sport Management (EASM), and Scientific Chair of the Association. He has published more than 100 research papers in international journals in the areas of sport, leisure and tourism management and marketing. His published work has attracted more than 12.000 internationals citations (based on scholar, H index 53). He is among the 2% of researchers globally, based on the Stanford list of most recognized researchers internationally. He is Associate Editor in the journals: Managing Sport and Leisure and Leisure Studies, and member of the editorial boards of several international journals (Journal of Service Theory and Practice, Sport Management Review, Sport Marketing Quarterly, Journal of Global Sport Management, Journal of Convention and Event Tourism etc.). He is also the co-author of the book “Sport Consumer Behavior: Marketing Strategies” (Funk, Alexandris and McDonald, 2023, by Routledge).
